"I teach a loose approach to painting. Very much 'less is more'. I like to have fun in my lessons and do not hold back when someone is not doing the right thing... In the nicest possible way of course! I certainly give lots of praise too. I try to give students confidence in their ability and believe that you only need basic drawing skills with watercolour. If the paint is properly applied, you will end up with a lovely painting."

MATERIALS LIST
PAINT: For all workshops I have the same materials list which includes SIX colours only and ARTISTS QUALITY only. This limited palette is what use for everything I paint.
I use Windsor & Newton paint because I’m used to the way these colours mix. Other brands have slightly different ‘recipes’ which dont give quite the same results. And please, don’t believe the advice from shop staff who will tell you that a similar colour is just as good.
• French Ultramarine
• Quinacridone MAGENTA
• Quinacridone GOLD
• Raw Sienna
• Burnt Sienna
• Cerulean Blue
BRUSHES need to be large round watercolour brushes somewhere between size 12 and 18...not mop style brushes. Bunnings have perfect brushes in their craft section that are under $5 each.
PAPER needs to be bought from an art shop. The cheap stuff can be really dodgy and does not behave the way it should to give good results. I use A4 and A3 medium or smooth paper but bring what you like to use.
You’ll need a rag too. Not just paper towels.
And a decent sized water container. Not a jam jar. Something with a wider base that won’t topple over
Masking tape might be useful
And a pencil
