SUSIE MURPHIE - TEACHING
Susie has been a watercolour artist for 33 years and in the last few years has decided to share her passion for watercolour painting and started teaching. Susie teaches at various art studios around Sydney.
Susie teaches artists of all shapes and sizes! Beginners, advanced, young or not so young. Everyone has ability to paint!

"I teach a loose approach to painting. Very much 'less is more'. I like to have fun in my lessons and do not hold back when someone is not doing the right thing. In the nicest possible way of course! I certainly give lots of praise too. I try to give students confidence in their ability and believe that you only need basic drawing skills with watercolour. If the paint is properly applied, you will end up with a lovely painting."

INSPIRATION
Photography was her first love, and she still absolutely love taking photos. There is often a sigh or a "here we go again" when she pulls out her camera. But there is no better way of capturing a moment in time than with your camera. Susie's interest in photography was easily transferred into art because of the 'moments' she wanted to paint. She loves painting beautiful country landscapes right through to a few lemons in a bowl.
The featured picture is a bamboo stick and ink drawing of Susie's old beloved Whippet 'Giggles'. It was done in a class from a photograph as a demonstration.
